For this project we redesigned a company's logo using Illustrator. I choose the Old Navy logo, typically a navy blue oval with large white lettering. I wanted to make the logo more colourful and a bit more interesting. I began with the original navy oval in order to tie it to the old logo. Next, I created a mosaic-esque pattern using coloured squares. I tried to choose colours that complemented each other both in brightness and tone. Lastly I added the text. I selected a shade of blue a bit lighter than the colour of the oval. The outlined text is reminiscent of the original white lettering, but also modernizes the logo. Overall I enjoyed this project and am happy with the results.
